EDINBURGH’S top two table tennis sides will clash tonight in a crucial Edinburgh & Lothians League match (7pm).

North Merchiston 1 hold a crucial one-point lead in the table so reigning champions Murrayfield will have to look to their laurels at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Murrayfield, venue.

North Merchiston will have the agony of choice when they select three players from the following for the match – Willie Mabon, David Atkins, Stewart Armitage and Hasitha Samaraweera while Murrayfield will be represented by a trio of teenagers – Christopher Wheeler, Blair Fowler and Eric Caldero, a newcomer from Spain.
