Curling: Dodds skips team to silver
The defending champions led by Lockerbie’s Hannah Fleming lost just one match en route to the final and beat Russia’s Alina Kovaleva 7-4 in the group stages, but the local skip got it right when it mattered most yesterday.

Hide AdFleming led 2-0 and 3-1 but needed a double at the tenth end to stay alive.
Kovaleva then scored a single at the first extra end to win 6-5.
“We’ve been playing well all week but we just weren’t firing as well as we had been in the final,” admitted Fleming. “You’ve got to hand it to Russia because they played well, but I’m really disappointed because overall I think we deserved to win but we just didn’t show it in the final.
