Diving: Grace Reid selected for Olympic test event

Edinburgh Diving Club's Grace Reid has been selected to represent Great Britain at the Olympic test event in Rio next month.

Reid’s aim at the FINA Diving World Cup in the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre will be to qualify for one of Great Britain’s remaining quota places for the Olympic Games in Brazil this summer.

It will be the Edinburgh University student’s debut at a senior world level competition and comes off the back of her performing well at the British National Diving Cup in Southend at the weekend.

The 19-year-old has previously featured in two Commonwealth Games for Scotland.

The 15-strong Great Britain team for the event in February features four World Championships medallists – Tom Daley, Rebecca Gallantree, Jack Laugher and Chris Mears.

The test event runs from February 19-24.
