Douglas delivers try double as Forrester forge ahead

Winger Greg Douglas scored two tries as Forrester posted their third win of the RBS East One season on Saturday by seeing off Ross High 32-17 at home.

The campaign started well for the Capital outfit, but then they struggled for a spell.

Last week they managed to take two points from a high-scoring loss at Hawick Linden though and built on that with the bonus point victory over the men from Tranent.

Douglas was the main man with his two scores, while stand-off Alan Panther and back-row Craig Morrison also dotted down for tries.

Full-back Neil Robertson kicked the remaining 12 points to put Forrester sixth and leave Ross High in second bottom.

Forrester president Derek Panther said: “The guys played well on Saturday and hopefully it will give them some confidence in the coming weeks.”

Elsewhere in East One leaders Preston Lodge saw their match at Lismore postponed as the Edinburgh side could not raise a side.
