Falkirk provide the opposition in the final and, with both teams facing the long trek north, the first hope is that weather conditions permit the showcase climax to go ahead.

East Lothian go into the final with their strongest line-up which includes six-times world indoor singles champion Alex Marshall MBE. As well as 75-times capped Marshall, Willie Wood MBE (93 caps) and Graham Robertson (87) give EL plenty experience.

Falkirk, though, also have top players in the shape of former East Lothian native Steven Glen and his fellow international team-mates Gary Hutchison, Martin McCalley, Steven Allan, Joey Strickland and Gary Smith.

Falkirk reached last year’s final where they lost to Blantyre and, having also missed out in the 2012 final, they will be determined to make it third-time lucky.

EL captain Robertson said: “Falkirk are a very talented team but one of our several drivers is that if we win, East Lothian will hold three major titles in the shape of the indoor Scottish Cup, indoor Premier League and the outdoor Hamilton Trophy.”
