Edinburgh curlers undone

Edinburgh curler Colin Campbell and his team were undone by fellow Scot Tom Brewster as they suffered their first defeat of the week during the Oslo Cup quarter-finals, writes LORIN McDOUGALL.

Campbell, John Penny, Scott MacLeod and Aberdeen skip David Edwards had topped Pool C with a perfect record of four wins out of four, but it was a different story in the knockout stages.

There they met Scottish champion and world silver medallist Brewster, who needed to survive a Saturday night tie-break to book his last-eight spot.

It was all-square after the opening two ends, but Brewster eased 4-1 ahead after five and sealed his 6-2 victory with one end to spare.
