Edinburgh Monarchs suffer third match call-off in a month
Team manager Alex Harkess said it was an easy decision to make.
“The track was covered in snow which unfortunately sinks into the track surface, unlike rain which runs off. The track was like a quagmire with no chance of drying out despite the forecast suggesting conditions would clear away by evening.”

Hide AdHarkess added that this latest washout wouldn’t affect the club financially. “We managed to stop Kevin Wolbert from leaving Germany for instance. It is frustrating to lose another meeting to the weather but other clubs are suffering the same thing. We hope to rearrange a new date with Redcar as quickly as possible.”
Monarchs’ next fixture is a League Cup tie against Glasgow Tigers at home next Friday, the Tigers having already qualified for the semi finals.
