Edinburgh University face Polonia Phoenix in Play-Offs

Down 17 points after seven minutes and still 36-19 behind at half-time to the Muskies, who had a two-point advantage in the head-to-heads from the first game this season, the students won 59-58.

American guard Dori Lansbach, back in the team after spending the first half of the season with a club in Barcelona, and Hannah Robb, the ex-Muskies forward now an EU student, were prominent as EU charged back to lead by seven with three minutes left.

But Tayside recovered their composure and got it back to a one-point game in the final minute, enough to secure second place behind Edinburgh Kool Kats in the final table. Lansbach top-scored with 20 with Hansine Marshall adding 11.

Kats have a bye for the quarter-final and the other games are Glasgow Rocks v Falkirk Fury and Muskies v St Mirren.

Edinburgh Kings, without Calum Nicol, went down to a shock home 72-66 defeat at the hands of Stirling Knights at Portobello High in their final regular season men’s league game. With St Mirren comfortably beating a much-weakened EU men 83-58 at the Pleasance it means Saints should finish second to champions Falkirk Fury, who are due to play Kings at home on Friday in their final game at the Mariner SC.

Boroughmuir Blaze cruised to a 72-55 win over a travel-weary Glasgow University at the Crags SC with Luke Gibson top-scoring with 13, Lewis Crofts adding 12, while Steve Docherty had 19 for GU.
