Farah back just in Tyne

Mo FARAH will make his first appearance since becoming world 5000 metres champion at the Great North CityGames on Saturday.

The 28-year-old, who claimed a brilliant gold medal on the final day of the championships in Daegu to make up for having to settle for silver in the 10,000m, will race over two miles at the event on the Newcastle-Gateshead quayside.

“I’m looking forward to returning to Newcastle for the Great CityGames,” said Farah, who is based in Portland, Oregon. “I’m always happy to run for my country and even though I now live in the US, I’ll be trying my best to make sure we beat them in the team competition.”

World 1500m silver medallist Hannah England and 110m hurdles bronze medallist Andy Turner will also compete.
