Scotland goalkeeper Allan McGregor has admitted he could leave Hull City at the end of this season.

McGregor, a target for Hearts last summer, has played every minute of his side’s Sky Bet Championship campaign. However, he is out of contract at the end of June and is yet to be offered an extension.

The 36-year-old told the Hull Daily Mail he has “not got a clue” where he will be plying his trade next season.

“I’m not the man to ask for that,” explained McGregor. “I’ve no idea.”

“I talked to them in July about it and they said ‘Get the transfer window out the road’ and then talked after the transfer window had closed and they said speak in January. Now we’re in February, so... But it’s not affected me. What’s going to happen is going to happen.”

McGregor, capped 30 times for Scotland, insisted he would like to stay at KCOM Stadium.

“I’d like to stay,” he added. “I’ve had four-and-a-half years here and I feel good.

“I don’t feel my age, to be fair. I would say if I had a shave I wouldn’t look it either.

“When I had the surgery on my back there was talk I needed to calm down the training but that’s not really happened. I’m feeling really good. I don’t feel any slower. Not that I was fast in the first place but it’s weird, I don’t feel my age.”

Hearts were keen to bring Edinburgh-born McGregor to Tynecastle last summer and, were he to become a free agent at the end of this season, could be tempted to try and lure the former Rangers stopper back north again.

Current Jambos No.1 Jon McLaughlin has been in superb form this season but manager Craig Levein has admitted the 30-year-old is set to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season with bigger deals likely to be on offer from clubs in England.
