Both players are contracted to Hearts until June 2017 but will spend the rest of the season loaned out. Head coach Robbie Neilson today stressed they will be welcomed back this summer.

“Morgaro is one of the best professionals you’ll ever meet in your life. He’s phenomenal,” said Neilson. “He just wants to play football and that’s what you want as a coach. I spoke to him on Sunday and said: ‘Look, you’re not going to get as much game time as you want. You want to play every single week and I can’t guarantee that.’

“He decided to go and hopefully he’ll play every week for Motherwell. I’m pleased for him because he’s that type of guy wants to play. Some players are happy with 15-20 games a season, others want to be out there every single week. If I can’t guarantee him that, it’s testament to him that he’s happy to go and play four or five months somewhere else. We can re-assess it in the summer.

“Billy is the same. He’s at a stage in his career where he needs to play every week. We couldn’t guarantee it so he’s gone to Rangers and he’ll do well there, believe me. He’s a very good player. . Hopefully he’ll come back in the summer a better player and push for more regular football.”
