Bollan keen to see his Lions roar in Hamilton’s den . .

LIVINGSTON BOSS Gary Bollan knows his side face a huge game in the Ramsdens Cup semi-final tomorrow, and he’s warned his players to make sure nobody forgets that they have reached the latter stages of this season’s competition by going all the way to the final.

The Lions travel to Hamilton Academical’s New Douglas Park, a venue they managed to come away from with a 1-1 draw earlier in the season, and Bollan is encouraging Livi fans to make the journey hand give his side the backing to help propel them to victory.

“Semi-finals might be big games, but nobody ever remembers who the semi-finalists were in cup competitions, so we know how important it is we try and go the whole way to the final. We’ll be going there fairy confident. We know we’re more than capable of going to New Douglas Park and getting a result,” said Bollan. “Still, the semi-final is a huge day and hopefully we get a few fans over to give the boys a good support, because that does really help us.”

The Livi team travelled to Hamilton back in late August, and on paper the Lions came away with a good 1-1 draw with the title contenders. Yet the result was tainted for the visiting side by the fact the despite entirely dominating the second half, Accies managed to take the lead with nine men, and Livi needed a stoppage-time equaliser from Rory Boulding.

Despite that, Bollan is confident his squad has shown they have what it takes to come out on top for a place in the final, with the side now undefeated in six league matches and with the second highest amount of goals scored in the First Division. “We went there earlier in the season and played well, but in the circumstances we were disappointed only to come away with the one point. But we’ll be confident we can come back with a victory,” he said.

Tomorrow’s other semi-final sees Third Division outfit Annan Athletic host Steven Pressley’s Falkirk at Galabank.
