The visitors doubled their advantage with 15 minutes remaining through Hunter’s cool finish only for the hosts to draw level with two goals in as many minutes, firstly Declan Hughes netting a free-kick from 20 yards before

Jamie McCormack powered home a header from a

corner.

But this Rose side are a resilient bunch and, with just a couple of minutes to spare, Ewan Moyes headed in to seal an excellent three points in Clackmannanshire.

Barry Ferguson’s Kelty were held to a 2-2 draw with East Stirlingshire at New Central Park.

Elsewhere, Civil Service Strollers leapfrogged Capital rivals Spartans into fifth place after a 1-0 victory at Ainslie Park.

The only goal of the game arrived midway through the first half, a well-worked

corner involving Scott Clapperton, Ex-Spartans full-back Andy Mair and Ryan Shanley teeing up the onrushing Archie Roue to curl home into the top corner beyond the helpless Blair Carswell in the Spartans goal.

Aaron Murrell and Jack Smith both went close to an equaliser for Dougie Samuel’s outfit, who also had captain Adam Corbett sent off late on.

Meanwhile, bottom-of-the-table Edinburgh University moved to within a point of Vale of Leithen after a 1-1 draw with Stirling University at Forthbank.

Robbie McGale fired home the opener for Stirling after 17 minutes but Jordan Purves equalised for Dorian Ogunro’s men five minutes into the second half.
