Lothian club to check surface as a precaution

Bonnyrigg Rose are due to hold a pitch inspection at 9am on Saturday for their Scottish Cup tie against Clyde later that day.

The Midlothian outfit are due to play the League 2 side at New Dundas at 3pm, but want to make a precautionary check on the playing surface, which is understood to be heavy. Furthermore, a slight frost is forecast in Friday night.

The Lowland League club, however, are hopeful that the fourth-round tie will go ahead.

If the match does fall foul of the weather, it will be rescheduled to Tuesday, January 21 with a 7.45pm kick-off.
