Broxburn aim to do double over Bo’ness

Broxburn travel to Bo’ness tomorrow looking to complete a Super League double over their opponents.

Athletic beat United 3-0 at Albyn Park on the opening
day of the league season, but know they’ll face a different proposition this time around.

Bo’ness axed manager Paul Ronald after a poor start to the season, but, since the return of Alan McGonigal to the hotseat, the club have recovered to sit second in the table.

Broxburn boss Stevie Pittman – who saw his team lose 6-2 to a resurgent Bo’ness in the East of Scotland Cup last month – is ready for tomorrow’s challenge, saying: “Bo’ness are the only side who have given us a spanking this season and it’s a defeat we didn’t like. They beat us 6-2 in the cup and they just overran us that day. It’s up to the players to respond to that defeat. Since Alan took over again he’s tightened the ship a bit.

“I’ve been texting him all week and the patter has been good. Everyone’s fit and I’ll have to make a couple of tough decisions tomorrow and we’ll see how the players respond
to that. It’s a chance for us to complete a double.”

Elsewhere, Musselburgh entertain Lochee with David McGlynn’s men looking to bounce back from last week’s 4-0 defeat at the hands of
Linlithgow.

Bonnyrigg are in Fife to face St Andrews, where they lost 4-0 last season.
