How long since each Scottish club last lifted the League Cup trophy

When each of Scotland's League Cup winners last lifted the trophy

The 75th season of the Scottish League Cup is officially in the books after St Johnstone were able to defeat Livingston at a regrettably empty Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon.

It was the first time in the Perth side’s history they were able to lift Scotland’s secondary cup competition and only their second major honour after 2014’s Scottish Cup final triumph over Dundee United.

While there’s no doubt the Scottish Cup deserves a greater status, in a nation dominated by two teams who hate to see the other side win anything, there isn’t a fan in the country who wouldn’t love to see their side lift the League Cup at the beginning of every season.

For some, that feeling is a clear memory. For others, it hasn’t occurred in decades. And for others, like Falkirk, Dunfermline Athletic, Inverness Caley Thistle, it hasn’t happened at all.
