Matthews is looking for a double boost

CELTIC full-back Adam Matthews has targeted back-to-back wins against Rennes and Motherwell as the Hoops seek a much- needed boost in their European and domestic campaigns.

First up is the visit of Rennes at Parkhead in the Europa League tonight, as they aim to bolster their hopes of qualifying from Group I.

Celtic then travel to second-placed Motherwell – who sit three points ahead of Neil Lennon’s men – hoping to haul themselves back into contention in the SPL on Sunday, with leaders Rangers now 12 points ahead.

Matthews said: “A win from both games would give us a massive boost. Rennes are a good team and it will be a good test but I’m fully confident we can get the three points and that will put us in a good position in the European group. Hopefully we can also get a good result in Sunday’s game.”
