David Bingham looks forward to challenge of being Whitehill boss

However, the former Dunfermline and Livingston winger, who had assisted Hislop at the Rosewell outfit for the last seven months, insists he is ready to get down to work after accepting the role on a permanent basis.

Bingham has previous experience of managing in the Lowland League having been in charge at Preston Athletic from 2011-2014.

“It’s a shame the way things work out as I was really enjoying working under Stevie. But sometimes these things come along when you least expect it,” Bingham said.

“It was something at the start of the year I wasn’t looking to get back into but things can change so quickly in football. I’ve worked with the players for more than a few months now so I felt I had to put my name forward for the job.

“Obviously it was up to the club and there would have been no hard feelings had they opted to go down a different route but I’m really looking forward to it and it keeps some of the continuity.”
