Dylan McGeouch wins two awards at Hibs' Player of the Year ceremony

Dylan McGeouch was the big winner at Hibs' Player of the Year ceremony last night as the 25-year-old picked up two awards.

The midfielder, who sat out the 5-3 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday due to a cheekbone injury, was voted the Players’ Player of the Year and the Supporters’ Player of the Year at the event held at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange.

McGeouch, who has made 39 appearances this season, has played a key role in keeping Neil Lennon’s side in the hunt for second spot.

Scott Allan won the goal of the season award for his strike in the 2-0 win over rivals Hearts in March, while supporters voted Jamie Maclaren’s goal in the same game as their Moment of the Season, with Maclaren and Easter Road stalwart Lewis Stevenson collecting the award.

Striker Oli Shaw, who has netted goals against Celtic, Ross County and Kilmarnock, picked up the Young Player of the Year, while Jayden Fairley, who plays with the Under-16 and Under-17 sides, was named the club’s Academy Player of the Year.

Hibs boss Lennon and midfielder John McGinn were both nominated for awards at the PFA Scotland event last night - Lennon for Manager of the Year and McGinn for Player of the Year - but both lost out, with St Mirren’s Jack Ross picking up the manager award while Celtic captain Scott Brown received the player award for a second time.
