Dunsmore, 19, is predominantly a right back and has been included in several of Alan Stubbs’ match squads this season, although is yet to make his competitive first-team debut for the League Cup finalists. The boyhood Hibee from Musselburgh signed a new deal in March last year that will keep him at Easter Road until the summer of 2017.

City boss Gary Jardine was delighted to land a player he has been tracking for some time.

“I’m really grateful to Hibs for allowing us to bring in Aaron on a development loan until the end of the season,” he said. “He’s a player I’ve admired greatly any time I’ve seen him in action for their Under-20 side and I’m sure he’ll be a fantastic addition to our squad as we bid to retain our Lowland League title.”

Dunsmore joins a club well placed to achieve just that, with the Citizens sitting 18 points clear at the top of the table ahead of Saturday’s home meeting with Preston Athletic.
