Fixture flux as Forfar fall by wayside

Linlithgow Rose and Musselburgh have been forced into a fixture rejig after Forfar West End pulled out of the East Region Super League.

Rose were due to play the Tayside outfit away this Saturday but will now host the Olivebankers at home instead.

Forfar WE had appeared in front of a disciplinary committee just last week for failing to fulfil fixtures due to a lack of players. While they did play one more fixture the club decided on Tuesday that they couldn’t carry on and informed East Region secretary John Reilly.

Now, not only will their results be expunged from the league record, but the relegation from the Super League will be altered, with one team going down and two teams being promoted from the Premier League.

“It was something we don’t like to see happen but it’s tough out there at times,” said Reilly. “All points and goals in the four league games Forfar have played will be deducted and should they reappear, they will join the North Division, effectively dropping down two divisions. We know the situation isn’t perfect.”
