Florian Kamberi focused on goals '“ not his Hibs future

Hibs striker Florian Kamberi has insisted he'll put his long-term future on hold as he concentrates on helping the Easter Road side clinch second place in the Premiership table.

The Swiss frontman is on loan from Grasshoppers Zurich but the Edinburgh outfit have the first option to buy him in the summer, a fee, said by boss Neil Lennon to be affordable, having already been hammered out between the clubs.

Kamberi’s seven goals in 11 matches have helped sway Lenoon towards pursuing that option but the 23-year-old declined to discuss what might happen. After helping Hibs to a 5-3 victory over Kilmarnock, he said: “I don’t know too much what will happen with the future. I just look game by game and we will see what happens.

“My dream is to finish second and we’ll see what happens. Everything has been going well since I came here. I have good team-mates and in all positions we have a lot of quality. I am very proud to be part of this team, it is an honour and of course if you are winning every time, it is even better.”

Asked how many goals he would like to score, Kamberi said: “I’d like to have 20 if possible.

“But if we win these last few games and I don’t score then I don’t care. As long as we win and finish second. But if I score one or two more I wouldn’t be sad.”
