Head coach Robbie Neilson plans to assess the 25-year-old trialist in action at Central Park and then make his mind up.

Noring, a Swedish internationalist, has been on trial at Riccarton for the last two weeks. He was kept on after another goalkeeper, the Israeli Danny Amos, was told last weekend he wouldn’t be getting a deal.

Neilson has been impressed with Noring in training but will make a final decision following this afternoon’s friendly. Hearts players who weren’t involved in Thursday night’s Europa League qualifying tie against Infonet will also be given match practice in Fife.

“Noring stayed with us this week and he’ll play against Cowdenbeath. Then I’ll have a chat with him and see where we go,” Neilson told the Evening News. “He’s looked good so far, that’s why I kept him here for another week. I’ve been pleased with what I’ve seen but we’ll see him in a game today and take it from there.

“The guys who didn’t play on Thursday will be involved at Cowdenbeath. The most important game for us is the European second leg in Estonia and it’s important we get ready the guys ready for it. Thursday was good for them, it gave them a good workout, and we can now build for the return game on Wednesday.”

Midfielders Morgaro Gomis and Don Cowie are both on the injured list and are unlikely to play. “Morgaro had a back spasm and Don is still recovering. He’s got a problem with his calf. He’s been in training but it’s a little bit too early,” added Neilson.
