The move sees the 37-year-old link up again with ex-Jambos boss Gary Locke, a coach during the Czech’s time at Tynecastle and now in charge at the Championship outfit.

Skacel last played in his Czech homeland for Mladá Boleslav but his appearances were sporadic.

The midfielder won legendary status with Hearts during two spells, helping them win the Scottish Cup in 2006 and 2012, scoring in both finals.

Rovers have also signed former Aberdeen and Morton striker Declan McManus on loan from Fleetwood Town.
