Hearts sign Nigerian striker Abiola Dauda

Nigerian forward Abiola Dauda has joined Hearts on loan from Vitesse Arnhem. The player holds a Swedish passport and previously played for Red Star Belgrade and Kalmar FF. He will take the place of Osman Sow, who is on the verge of finalising a move to the Chinese club Henan Jianye.

Dauda is 27 years old and 5ft 11in tall with a reputation as a quick and mobile attacker. He has a decent scoring record at his previous clubs after leaving Nigeria at the age of 18.

He is expected to go straight into the Hearts squad for Sunday’s Scottish Cup fifth round tie against Hibs at Tynecastle. He will compete for a place up front with Gavin Reilly, Juanma Delgado and Dario Zanatta.
