Hearts striker Gavin Reilly joins St Mirren

St Mirren have signed striker Gavin Reilly from Hearts on a one-year contract.

The Paisley club moved quickly for Reilly after he became surplus to requirements at Tynecastle.

He joined Hearts on a three-year deal from Queen of the South in 2015 but failed to establish himself as a regular and spent last season on loan to Dunfermline.

The St Mirren manager Jack Ross worked with Reilly in Edinburgh and was keen to bring the player west once it became clear he had no future at Hearts.

The 24-year-old now drops back into the Ladbrokes Championship after scoring five times in 32 appearances in maroon.
