Teenage Hearts midfielder Andy Irving has joined Falkirk on loan to gain more first-team experience.

The 18-year-old will play with Paul Hartley's Championship side until January 2019, at which point the situation will be reviewed. He can also appear for the Hearts reserve team during his loan spell.

Irving is keen to play regularly this season after breaking into the Hearts first team in January. The Edinburgh club are overloaded with midfielders and decided to farm the youngster out and ensure his development continues.
