The 28-year-old Frenchman struck twice after coming off the bench to complete a 4-0 win, writing his name into the record books as the first Hearts player to score a brace on his debut from the bench.

Robbie Neilson was also full of praise for the impact of the former Blackpool front man, stating that there is no-one in Scottish football who can match the physical stature of the 6ft 4in giant, who was most recently plying his trade in Turkey with Altay.

But while his name may be on everyone’s lips, there is likely to be some uncertainty over how to actually pronounce it.

There are in fact TWO pronunciations of Gnanduillet’s surname – the French version, ‘Non-dwee-yay’, and the English one, ‘Nand-yoo-lay’.

The challenge now for the Hearts faithful is how to incorporate that into a chant for when fans return.
