Ban set to be lifted as Hearts pay players

HEARTS are set to have their transfer embargo lifted later this month after the club confirmed that they paid their players their December wages on time yesterday.

The Tynecastle club have been banned from signing any new faces until December 23 by the Scottish Premier League after failing to pay all of their playing staff on the due date in both September and October.

They escaped further punishment last month when their squad agreed en masse to defer their November wage as a way of easing
financial pressure on the club.

The players and backroom staff were brought up to date with their outstanding salaries last week and received their December payment as planned yesterday.
