BBC Scotland to screen classic matches - starting with memorable Hearts Scottish Cup win

Broadcaster to show extended highlights of classic games amid hiatus

BBC Sport Scotland has announced plans to screen extended highlights of classic matches from this weekend, starting with Hearts’ Scottish Cup win against Hibs in May 2012 tonight.

The broadcaster has made the decision in a bid to fill the void left by Scottish football’s indefinite hiatus.

All games will be shown on the BBC Scotland channel and BBC Sport Scotland website and app, with some fixtures including a live text commentary.

Hearts’ stunning 5-1 win over Capital rivals Hibs in May 2012 will be shown tonight at 7pm, with the 1991 Scottish Cup final between Motherwell and Dundee United will be screened at 7.15pm on Sunday March 29 on the same channel and platforms.

More matches will be announced in the near future.

Elsewhere, the Scottish Cup Twitter account will be showing the 1996 Scottish Cup final between Rangers and Hearts on their Facebook page and YouTube channels this evening with a 7.45pm kick-off.
