Ex-Hearts goalkeeper given chance to win deal with Kilmarnock

The 27-year-old has been training with Killie following his release from Dundee.

He will now be part of Tommy Wright’s squad for their pre-season training camp in Northern Ireland.

The former St Johnstone manager is undertaking an extensive rebuild at Rugby Park after relegation from the Premiership.

He has already signed 12 players, including former Hearts starlet Scott Robinson, plus ex-Hibs duo Fraser Murray and Jason Naismith.

Wright revealed he tried to bring Hamilton to St Johnstone on a couple of occasions.

The goalkeeper came through the Hearts academy, making more than 60 appearances before a switch to Dundee.

“He is someone who has a lot of experience but for me he is someone who hasn’t fulfilled his full potential yet,” Wright told the Scottish Sun.

“If we do sign him then I am confident we could make him into a really top class goalkeeper who performs well on a consistent basis.”
