According to the Courier, the former Hearts manager will take on a role similar to the director of football position he once held at Tynecastle. It is said he will not take a wage for this new role.

His first order of business will be in finding a new manager after the departure of Michael Paton while he’ll also look to help recruit players to the Angus club, who were relegated from the SPFL after a play-off final defeat to Kelty Hearts at the end of last season.

Levein has been out of the game since leaving an advisory role at Hearts last summer as the club wound down his contract after relieving him of the manager’s role in 2019. He’s since been working as a pundit, mainly for BBC Scotland.
