The Jam Tarts know they can extend their lead at the summit of the Championship with three points against Stevie Crawford’s Pars who sit second.

The last eight days in the second tier have been interesting with the top three of Hearts, Dunfermline and Dundee all dropping points last weekend. Robbie Neilson’s side went down 3-2 to Raith Rovers at Tynecastle with a performance that concerned fans.

However, the team hit back in style, downing the same opponents 4-0 in a dominant display in Kirkcaldy with new signing Armand Gnanduillet coming off the bench and grabbing a brace, while also display the different qualities he will add to the squad.

Neilson’s team selection will be interesting with Jamie Walker and Mihai Popescu putting in their best performances in a number of weeks or months in the case of the centre-back. There is the injury to Josh Ginnelly to contend with and could the Hearts boss be tempted to pair Liam Boyce and Gnanduillet together?

Dunfermline Athletic were the first team to beat the league leaders this campaign with an energetic performance at East End Park back in November. Since that victory they have won just once in the league, drawing their last two games 0-0 and currently sit nine points behind the maroon men.
