Hearts have agreed terms to sign the versatile Barnsley youngster Toby Sibbick on loan until the end of the season. He is due to complete paperwork in Edinburgh this afternoon and become manager Daniel Stendel's second signing.

The Kosovo international winger Donis Avdijaj signed a six-month contract at Tynecastle Park on Monday and Sibbick is poised to follow. The 20-year-old Englishman can play in midfield or defence but Hearts intend to use him in the holding midfield role.

Stendel signed Sibbick last summer whilst Barnsley manager and believes he can bring energy and aggression to the middle of the park. He left AFC Wimbledon to sign a four-year contract at Oakwell and can operate at right-back, centre-back or holding midfield.

He has fallen out of the Barnsley side since Gerhard Struber replaced Stendel in November, but the move to Hearts should give him regular first-team football once again.
