Hearts and Hibs announce first 'signing' of deadline day - but not the one fans are expecting

Hearts and Hibs have announced a partnership with energy drink Carabao.

The low calorie, lower sugar, fruity drink brand will be the official energy drink partner of the Edinburgh duo.

Each club will be linked with their own flavour with green apple for Hibs and mixed berry for Hearts.

As part of the partnership, Carabao will offer “enticing incentives” plus signed merchandise.

The brand’s presence will be notable on the state-of-the-art LED advertising boards at both Tynecastle Park and Easter Road.

Greg McEwan, head of Marketing & brand partnerships at Hibernian FC, said: “This announcement further highlights Hibernian FC’s appeal to global brands, and I’m thrilled that Carabao have chosen Hibernian to help them take the step into Scottish football, on the back of successful partnerships with Chelsea FC and The Carabao Cup in England. We hope that this is the start of a long-term partnership between the brands.”

Hearts’ director of community and partnerships, Ann Park said: “We are thrilled to welcome Carabao onboard as a partner for Season 20-21 at Tynecastle Park. This partnership highlights the Club’s continued ability to attract leading international brands to its partnership portfolio and we look forward to introducing Carabao to our supporters. We are sure that the Mixed Berry flavour will be a particular favourite with the Hearts faithful.”

Carabao, a Thai company, are probably best known amongst football fans in this country for their sponsorship of the English League Cup which is currently called the Carabao Cup.
