While Hibs starlet Ethan Laidlaw summed up the situation pretty well with his take on the announcement, noting Scottish football’s place now.

Ten of Europe’s ‘elite’ clubs, plus Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, released a statement late on Sunday night confirming their desire to form a breakaway competition which aims to have up to 20 teams taking part.

The plans have been condemned by Uefa who have threatened to ban players from international football.
