Hearts await injury verdict on star after scan results arrive in different language as squad update sent
The latest Hearts injury update has been sent by Derek McInnes.
Hearts are awaiting the scan results of Oisin McEntee - after the verdict came back in a different language.
The Jambos are out in Spain for a training camp ahead of five post-split fixtures. They are top of the Premiership by a point but have dealt with numerous injury concerns in the second half of the season, with versatile McEntee the latest, going down with a suspected hamstring problem against Motherwell.
He has been scanned abroad but manager Derek McInnes admits the results need translated as they read in Spanish. McInnes also provided an update on Harry Milne, the left-back who has missed time with a calf problem as they continue to manage Lawrence Shankland after the striker’s recent return from a hamstring issue. Next up for Hearts is the Edinburgh derby on April 26th.
Hearts injury update ahead of Hibs
“We're still waiting to get word back on Oisin,” McInnes told Hearts TV from La Manga. “He is feeling better generally. We got him scanned out here but unfortunately the scan results came back in Spanish. We're getting that translated, just to see the extent of it. Harry's stepping up his work.
“Tomas Magnusson is here but we know Tomas is up against it to get back playing before the end of the season. Lawrence is just a wee bit tight, as to be expected. Just for the nature of the last couple of games since Lawrence came back, we've had to keep him on the pitch for the full duration.
“Stephen Kingsley a bit better than he was after the game at Livingston in terms of his recovery. We're getting good players back at a good time but we're mindful that they're not at full 100% fitness-wise. We're just trying to build that up as best we can between now and the next game. Hopefully everybody will feel a bit stronger because of that.
“We know what's coming. There's a lot of demand, a lot of focus on the games coming but it's exciting at the same time. This is just a wee bit of calmness to be around each other, get the work done, be as best prepared as we can. Next week we have a full working week back in Edinburgh ahead of the derby game. There's not going to be any real change to our preparation for that. We just feel as though sometimes when you don't have a game at the weekend, weeks when you're training without a game at the end of it, it's not ideal. But for this, there's clearly a lot of good we can get.”
