It was one of the team's best performances of the campaign with Gary Mackay-Steven getting his first two goals for the club and Aaron McEneff netting the other.

Supporters were delighted to witness such a display, while also having their say on Scott Allan not clapping during the guard of honour and the much-talked about trophy lift.

@LewisBroadie: “Good performance and enjoyable game”

@JamboMalc: “Good stuff. That's the kind of performance we should have seen a lot more of this season.”

@jambohoggie: “Good result in a game that could have been quite tricky. Hopefully this will mean a strong finish to the season.”

@TianRunty: “Mackay-Steven goals are like buses. Nowt for a while then 2 at once. Well played lads. Nice to see a debut for Pollock too, pity there's no crowd for the welcome”

@simonly86: “Can’t believe I’m going to say this.... I enjoyed that”

@Jambo_Mick: “How good was Scott Allan today eh? Mind that time he didn’t clap just before kick off, terrific, just a terrific performance, one to really remember.”

@Hertz_1874: “Least Scott Allan didn't clap though”

@TS_Nicoll: “Great shift from Hearts today. An explosive first 45 followed by a very controlled second half. The kind of performance that we know this team is capable of, but haven’t seen enough this season… Souttar, Mackay-Steven and Boyce the pick of the performers for me!”

@tartanjambo_x: “Decent game and win for the last game of the season at home. Hopefully nxt time we see Tynie we will actually be at it instead of watching from home.”

@maroonspecs: “Arguably the most comfortable we've been all season, which is a low bar admittedly. Would've been nice to have had even half of that end product from GMS a bit sooner but hopefully he kicks on in the Premiership.”

@MartinTaylor9: “We've all been a bit frustrated this season and it has undeniably been very poor at times, but ultimately it is job done. Let's see what next season brings.”

@Alistair_1874: “Hearts Hearts Glorious Hearts onwards and upwards! Plenty of work to be done to be ready for the premiership but end of the day we are back! Mon the Hearts!”

@scottstevenson_: “If you can't take some joy in seeing your team lift a trophy, even one considered the "bare minimum" then maybe football isn't for you”

@lauriedunsire: “A very enjoyable match on a fine day in the capital. Terrific performance & great to see GMS playing like the player we saw at Aberdeen & Celtic. Not a day for much fanfare but one thing I loved seeing was @FinlayPollock16 getting a game & then savouring the moment post match.”

@maroonspecs: “At least Steven Naismith had the self-awareness to look visibly embarrassed when lifting that trophy.”

@HeartsRant: “Neil Doncaster is in Tynecastle Park right now, ready to hand over the @SPFL Championship trophy. The idea that we’re playing along with this whole procession is bizarre. He has some nerve showing his face at our football club after all that’s gone on.”
