Hearts manager Daniel Stendel is confident midfielder Sean Clare and forward Jamie Walker will be available to face St Mirren on Wednesday.

Clare suffered a knee injury and was replaced by Walker after 28 minutes of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Motherwell at Tynecastle Park.

The substitute then sustained a nasty head knock near his right eye during the second half, although he managed to finish the game after on-field treatment.

Clare's knee is causing the most concern ahead of the vital relegation battle in Paisley. Stendel is hopeful both players will make his squad.

“We are still assessing them and I hope they will manage to do some training. I think they should be okay for Wednesday,” he said.

“We are hoping Sean is okay and, with Jamie, cuts are cuts. I don’t think they will be unable to play.”
