Hearts are still waiting on striker Liam Boyce and midfielder Toby Sibbick to resume training after illness.

Neither player is guaranteed to face Rangers in this weekend’s Scottish Cup tie at Tynecastle Park, with decisions on both likely to be made later in the week.

Boyce missed training last week having been unwell and would not have been available had Friday night’s Premiership match with St Mirren gone ahead.

Sibbick has been missing since the 3-3 draw with St Johnstone at the start of the month, although he has been doing some light work at Riccarton separate from the first-team squad.

The Hearts management team are determined not to risk either player unless they are fully recovered before Saturday’s 5.30pm kick-off.

With vital league games to come in the fight against relegation, including next Tuesday’s visit to Easter Road to face Hibs, Boyce and Sibbick will be given all the time necessary to rejoin full training.
