Hearts have appealed to supporters to donate flags to display at Tynecastle ahead of the new season.

The Jam Tarts kick off their season in a week’s time when they host Inverness CT in the Betfred Cup after a wait of more than 200 days for competitive action.

Tynecastle has largely been bare for their pre-season friendlies against East Fife and Partick Thistle without fans, aside from the cardboard cut-outs, including one of Jesus and legend Stephane Adam.

The club are keen on fans to contribute their own flags to add colour to the stadium with fans not likely back in the ground for the foreseeable future.

The club posted: “Attention: We want your flags! Drop your flags off at the Clubstore Thurs-Sat this week and we'll have them displayed inside Tynecastle for next week's game vs ICT.

"Flags should be labelled on the back with contact details for return, no offensive flags allowed.”
