Hearts hope to reinforce their attack by signing the Dundee striker Craig Wighton before Friday's transfer deadline.
The Evening News has learned that the Dens Park club are open to a deal as they prepare to sign Kenny Miller following his exit from Livingston.
Wighton, 21, was a target for Hearts back in January 2016 and is now in their sights once again.
Contact has been made with Dundee and talks are moving quickly regarding the Scotland Under-21 internationalist.
After selling Kyle Lafferty to Rangers, Hearts are in the market for another forward. An attempt to bring Osman Sow back to Tynecastle Park stalled last week and Wighton has now emerged as the next target.
The Edinburgh club want him in place as soon as possible with the summer transfer window due to close at midnight this Friday.
