The 2025/26 campaign will be remembered with great fondness by Hearts fans despite the agonising ending at Celtic Park. Missing out in the Premiership title in the dying minutes will take time for players to get over, but they can look back on the campaign with enormous pride.
Head coach Derek McInnes arrived last May and a raft of new signings were recruited to strengthen the team. They managed to finish second in the league, two points behind Celtic, and secure a place in the Champions League qualifying rounds. Below, we evaluate the performances of every player who made an appearance for Hearts during the season:

1. GK: Alexander Schwolow
8/10 The German keeper arrived at the end of August and proved to be an inspired signing. First Hearts No.1 to keep four clean sheets in his first four games. Managed 14 shutouts altogether. | SNS Group

2. GK: Craig Gordon
5/10 Only made three league appearances during an injury-interrupted season at the age of 43. However, THAT save at Dundee defied physics and was a huge moment in the season. | SNS Group

3. GK: Zander Clark
5/10 Played seven times as Hearts started the season like a train, but lost his place when Schwolow signed. Moved on loan to Doncaster in January. | SNS Group

4. DEF: Frankie Kent
7/10 Played 25 times and always reliable. Fine header against Falkirk as the title race approached a climax. Still popular with fans. | SNS Group
