The player spent time on loan with Spartans last season.

Brechin City boss and former Dundee United and Celtic full-back Mark Wilson spoke to both ex-Hearts boss Craig Levein and current coach John Rankin for their take on the exciting youngster.

He said: “We are really looking forward to working with Leeroy. He is someone with immense talent and has been in and around Hearts’ first team over the last couple of years.

“He has earned himself a new contract for this season under (Tynecastle gaffer) Robbie Neilson so he is obviously one that Hearts have high hopes for.

“I have been in touch with the Hearts staff about him for a number of weeks now.

“I’ve spoken to John Rankin (under-18 and reserve coach), who thinks he has huge potential, and I’ve also discussed with his former boss Craig Levein, who spoke about him in glowing terms.

“He is a player with electric pace and can play off either wing or through the middle upfront and will complement the other players that we’ve got.

“He will hopefully fit in with our style of play and grabs goals for us. His ambition is to go back to Hearts a much better player, ready for first team football there.”
