Hearts are awaiting scan results to determine the extent of a knee injury to midfielder Arnaud Djoum. Manager Craig Levein expects to learn the outcome today but is fearful that one of his key players may be sidelined.
Djoum ended Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Hamilton Academical with fluid on his knee and was sent for a scan yesterday afternoon. Hearts are praying the problem is not serious as the Cameroon internationalist only returned three weeks ago from a two-month absence due to medial ligament damage.
“Arnaud finished the game with a little fluid in his knee. He got caught in a kind of scissor challenge earlier in the match and it worsened as the game went on,” Levein explained to the Evening News.
“He’s gone for a scan so we are waiting on the results. That’s my prime source of concern after the weekend, even more so than the other stuff which went on during the match.
“Arnaud has been doing pretty well since he came back from his last injury and I’d hate to lose him. I’ll just have to wait and see what comes back from the scan.”
