Hibs and Edinburgh City chiefs join Hearts' Ann Budge on SPFL reconstruction group as date of first meeting revealed

Hibs chief executive Leeann Dempster and Edinburgh City chairman Jim Brown will join Hearts owner Ann Budge as part of the SPFL’s reconstruction group.

The committee, which is led by Budge and Hamilton Accies’ Les Gray, will first convene on Monday, April 20 at 4pm as Scottish football looks at potential league reconstruction following the decision to end the Championship, League One and League Two seasons immediately. The Premiership could follow as early as next week depending on guidance from UEFA.

The other members of the group are Paul Hetherington (Airdrieonians), Lachlan Cameron (Ayr United), John Sheran (Cove Rangers), John Nelms (Dundee), Gary Deans (Falkirk), David MacKinnon (Morton), Jacqui Low (Partick Thistle), Gerry Crawley (Queen’s Park), Bill Clark (Raith Rovers), Rod Houston (Highland League) and George Fraser (Lowland League).

Gray said: “I am delighted that so many clubs have come forward to support the league restructuring process. I am looking forward to a positive debate.”

Budge added: “The importance of league restructuring is understood by all. It is vital that we all work together to find solutions for the benefit of the game as a whole.”
