The full-back, a reserve team regular, has been training with the first-team and has already made his debut, starting in a 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock at the end of the 2017/18 season as a 16-year-old.

Logan was one of a number of teenagers fielded by Craig Levein at Rugby Park. He made way just after the hour mark for another debutant in Leeroy Makovora.

The new deal represents a reward for hard work, on and off the pitch.

Logan told the club’s official website: “I’m buzzing just to get it all over the line as quickly as possible. It was a no brainer and I’m very happy.

“I’ve been in training with the first team and just trying to take bits of information from the experienced players.

“Guys like Michael Smith are brilliant to watch in training every day. If you can take bits from them every day then it should help you out in the long run.

“Hopefully, down the line, I’ll be able to play in the first team. That’s the ultimate goal.

“I know I need to work hard in training and perhaps even go out on loan in order to make it, but I’m determined to do it.”

Meanwhile, Logan's team-mate Chris Hamilton is set for a positional change with his loan move to Dumbarton.

He is set to be moved into a holding midfield role, a position Hearts see him in long-term.
