Ann Budge will be taking on less responsibility in the day-to-day running of Hearts after announcing the hiring of a new CEO.

Andrew McKinlay arrives at Tynecastle having previously worked with Scottish Golf and the SFA and will begin his new role later this week.

The unexpected news immediately had Hearts fans reacting on social media. Here’s what they had to say:

Famous 1874: "Doesn’t seem to have a lot of footballing experience, very much a golf guy. Was hoping we had a football based person in that role which Budge failed in because of a lack of footballing knowledge."
