How much prize money Hearts, Hibs and Edinburgh City could get to help them during coronavirus pandemic

An option proposed is clubs get prize money from their current position to help them in the current situation

As of yet there is no solution forthcoming on how the Scottish football season will end due to the coronavirus pandemic. Uefa have set the deadline of June 30 for leagues to be completed. Due to the situation, however, there is no certainty the divisions around Europe will be bale to be played to conclusion by then.

If would give the Scottish FA and SPFL’s joint response group a headache as to what happens next. Already, Hearts have proposed to players, management and staff a 50% reduction in salary as of the start of April. It raises concerns once again about the finances of clubs in Scotland.

They don’t have access to gate receipts or income generated via other means, while with the season still up in the air no prize money is forthcoming. Ex-Hearts and Hibs players Michael Stewart suggests paying out prize money based on the current standings, but leaving it open for them to be finished. We take a look at how much each Hearts, Hibs, Edinburgh City and the Scottish Premiership sides would earn if prize money is similar to last season’s £25million which was split between the 42 clubs.
