Huge boost for Hearts ace John Souttar - Footage of defender back running after injury nightmare

Hearts star John Souttar has taken a huge step forward in his recovery from a ruptured Achilles.

The centre-back has not played since February due to two significant injuries.

In the Scottish Cup win over Rangers in Tynecastle nearly a year ago the player suffered the injury to his Achilles. He then was hit by a relapse during the summer while working on his rehabilitation.

Robbie Neilson revealed last month that the 24-year-old was set to step up his recovery in January with the player “well ahead of schedule”.

Hearts gave fans a glimpse of John Souttar back in training with footage of him back on the field and doing running exercises.

There is a chance the centre-back could be back in action before the end of the campaign due to the progress he is making. Although, with the player having suffered so many serious injuries the club are moving forward carefully with next season the aim.
